TAA40104 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (14 Units)

Course Overview

This course will provide the skills and knowledge to deliver competency based training and assessment according to AQTF 2007 requirements.

Who should attend?

People who attend are typically workplace coaches and supervisors, or individuals with expertise in a particular industry or vocational field
Pathway Options:

  1. Full qualification (14 Units). For individuals wishing to attain the full qualification TAA40104. These people will have competence in a vocational field or competency area that is the subject of training and assessment. People with the vocational competence who complete this training successfully, can train and assess according to AQTF2007 requirements
  2. Upgrade (8 Units). For individuals wishing to upgrade from BSZ40198 to TAA40104
  3. Enterprise Trainer and Assessor (5 Units). For individuals who train and assess others within a workplace, but who do not need to design training.
  4. Enterprise Trainer Skill Set (2 Units). For individuals who coach/train others within a workplace. The role usually involves coaching or mentoring at individual or small group levels.
  5. Assessor Skill Set (3 Units). For individuals who assess others within a workplace. Assessors must have competence in the vocational field or competency area that is the subject of assessment. People with the vocational competence who complete this training successfully, can assess according to AQTF2007 requirements

Pre-Requisites

Nil. This course requires good literacy skills such as the ability to read and interpret VET information and materials. Preparation work such as reading prior to attending workshops will be required to supplement knowledge. Participants will require access to a workplace to complete assessments.

Duration

The full course can be completed in 5 weeks. It involves 7 days trainer-led workshops, sequenced as 3 consecutive days, and 4 consecutive days, with a 3-week break in between for the completion of project work. The last workshop is a practical assessment day. People undertaking one of the optional pathways enter/exit the program on specific days.

Training Delivery

ITA takes an integrated approach to delivery rather than via a unit by unit approach.
ITA can customise the delivery to suit the need for groups of 5 or more.
