Introduction:

This Nationally recognised course is designed for storepersons, stock pickers, forklift operators and loaders, drivers and management. The main purpose of the mass, dimension and loading requirements in the Heavy Vehicle National Law is to decrease risks from excessively loaded or excessively large heavy vehicles. Potentially “off-road” Chain of Responsibility (CoR) parties may result in a driver feeling pressured to drive a vehicle with loads in breach of mass, dimension and loading requirements.

All stakeholders are legally responsible for restraining your load so that:
  • It does not come off your vehicle under normal driving conditions, including heavy braking and minor collisions It does not negatively affect the stability of the vehicle, which can cause the vehicle to roll over or swerve uncontrollably and cause an accident
  • It does not stick out of the vehicle in a way that could injure people, damage property or obstruct other’s paths
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the Unit: TLID2004 - Load and unload goods/cargo
