Dual Chain of Responsibility (Level 1 & 2) 
This course was created to save participants time by eliminating any doubling up of training or assessments for two Chain of Responsibility units:
  • TLIF0001 Apply chain of responsibility legislation, regulations & workplace procedures
  • TLIF0002 Administer chain of responsibility policies and procedures

Introduction:

This Nationally recognised course is designed for Managers (Transport, Operations, Logistics, Terminal, Fleet, Warehouse, Distribution), Supervisors and Administrators.

The Heavy Vehicle National Law aims to improve safety by encouraging a proactive and outcomes-focused approach to managing the risks associated with transport activities regarding:
  • Speed
  • Fatigue
  • Mass, Dimension and Loading
  • Vehicle Standards

The aim of the Chain of Responsibility is to ensure that all who bear responsibility for conduct which affects compliance should be made accountable for failure to discharge that responsibility. All parties in the transport chain, not just the driver and operator, can be made accountable for these offences. The primary WHS law also requires a duty of care to provide any information, training, instruction or supervision that is necessary to protect all people from risks to their health and safety arising from work carried out.

As a result, when ITA created the resources for TLIF0002, we mapped the resources to eliminate any doubling up of training or assessment information and is the reason why the TLIF0002 adds only an additional two hours (plus 4-week log book). If delivered in isolation, TLIF0002 would be approximately 6 hours in duration plus the log book.

As TLIF0001 is not a formal pre-requisite under the Training Package requirements for TLIF0002.  Both units are offered together due to overlapping performance and knowledge criteria. Having both TLIF0001 and TLIF0002 learners in the same room usually allows more flexibility with training dates and improves cost effectiveness, depending on the numbers of learners and their availability.
